About Nicosia Sailing Club
Its all about the Club and its history: The Nicosia Sailing Club organization was founded in 1988 by a group of sailing enthusiasts. Nicosia is not a coastal city, therefore Larnaca was the ideal location to establish the club’s base.
The Nicosia Sailing Club is a non-profit organization and a registered member of the Cyprus Sailing Federation. It's aim is to develop and promote sailing in Cyprus. The Nicosia Sailing Club generates its income from membership fees, the sailing academy, seasonal events, sponsorships, and various other activities.
Nicosia Sailing Club is approved by World Sailing as a Recognized Training Center
Racing and Academy
The NSC runs coastal sailing academies and participates in National Championships in ISAF classes of Optimist, Laser, and Open Sea. It has also participated internationally in the Olympic Windsurfing Class RS:X . We offer introductory or development sailing courses to beginners, in sailing, seamanship and safety at sea.
Our Optimist Sailing Academy, attracts participation of local youth (5-14 year-olds) in the sport aged, giving them the opportunity to learn proper sailing, and to participate in racing events.
Windsurfing Station
Windsurfing is one of the most popular activities at the club for newcomers to advanced windsurfers alike. More information can be found on our Windsurfing section of the site.
At the Nicosia Sailing Club members of all ages can discover the potential to enhance their quality of life by approaching the sea through the sport of sailing – undoubtedly one of the most environmentally friendly ways to understand, enjoy and nourish a love for the sea, fair play and sportsmanship. Our goal, and effort, has always been to attract youth to the sport of sailing and to inspire and advance involvement in sports in general, helping to keep them engaged in healthy activities.
